Troye Sivan Mellet was born Johannesburg, South Africa, on the 5th June 1995 to his mother Laurelle Mellet, and his dad Shaun Mellet. His mother was a model and homemaker, while his father is an agent for real estate and businessman.

Troye was raised with his father, mom and three brothers (two brothers and one sister) in Perth, Western Australia. In his home, he lived in an Orthodox Jewish family as his father was born to a Lithuanian Jewish family and his mother was had converted to Judaism.
